Education

Kubilay Sertel received his B.S. in 1995 from Middle East Technical University and his M.S. in 1997 from Bilkent University, both in Turkey. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2003. He has been working at the ElectroScience Laboratory since January of 2003. Dr. Sertel is a member of IEEE, IEEE Antennas and Propagation and IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Societies.

Research Interests

Dr. Sertel’s research areas include electromagnetic theory, computational electromagnetics, integral equation and hybrid methods, fast and efficient methods for large-scale electromagnetics problems and parallel implementations of fast algorithms.
He is involved in various projects at The Ohio State University, including (1) antenna and radar scattering simulation algorithm development for a virtual electromagnetic test range model, (2) development of hybrid algorithms for large scale electromagnetic simulation of composite structures and complex wireless environments, (3) parallel computing on shared and distributed memory architectures, (4) studies on electromagnetic interference and coupling as relates to automobiles and aircraft, and (5) antenna design and development for a variety of wireless applications.
