Education Eric Walton earned his B.S. in 1966 from The University of Delaware, his M.S. in 1968 and the Ph.D. in 1971, both from the University of Illinois. He has been with The Ohio State University ElectroScience Laboratory since 1977 where he is now a Senior Research Scientist. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and has served on numerous boards and in several elected leadership positions for that organization. He was appointed by the National Academy of Sciences to be a member of the Committee on Antennas, Satellite Broadcasting and Emergency Preparedness for the Voice of America. Research Interests Dr. Walton's areas of interest include radio and radar signal analysis, radar target identification, compact range development and antenna design. A major area of continuing research is the development of high resolution radar imaging techniques. Specific research topics include superresolution inverse synthetic aperture imaging, higher order spectral analysis and time frequency distribution interpretation of radar scattering. All of these topics have led to improved radar scattering phenomenological concepts with applications to radar target identification. He is the author of several papers and more than 15 reports specifically related to radar target identification.
